Yes, yes, I know. I have no excuses, only a confession: I am guilty of blog abandonment. My sentence? A more committed devotion to delivering you nothing but the very best of my perspective on the travelling world. I know I've probably said that a million times before, but I mean it this time, really I do. I can't wait to check out all the updates on your blogs, leave comments and resume our lively interactions. Let's jump into this one right away, shall we? Living the Social with
LivingSocial. I'm sure most of you have heard of or used LivingSocial before, the deal-of-the-day website with copious amounts of discounted certificates that are usable at festivals, restaurants, bars etc. I have to say, I am generally skeptical about the electric commerce world; there's so much shadiness involved, I can't be bothered to sieve through the pile of scams.
LivingSocial, however, has served me quite well. As I discovered this summer (is summer over already???), it is a great tool to have when you are exploring a new city. It all started when I purchased a ticket to a Drink the District Wine Festival event in Washington, DC. A week later, I was back on the site, scooping up more affordable deals in an impressive array of unique venues. The next time you are visiting a city for a few weeks or months, bookmark the LivingSocial site; you won't regret it. It is a great way to socialise, meet locals and sample the culture.
Drink the District
And that about caps the globe. How was your summer?
xx
Welcome back from the hiatus. I look forward to reading more...
