R.I.P Arthur Rimbaud

rimbaud1

My favorite poet Arthur Rimbaud died on this day (Novemeber 10th 1891). I am putting up this post to commemorate his exuberant and creative life.

“Elle est retrouvée.
Quoi? - L’Éternité.
C’est la mer allée
Avec le soleil.”

“It has been found again.
What? – Eternity.
It is the sea
Mingled with the sun”

First and last four lines of Eternity by Arthur Rimbaud. 20 October 1854 – 10 November 1891. R.I.P Monsieur Rimbaud.

  1. Wow. It has been a while since I've heard his name. I'm not too familiar with his work, but once in a French class, we had to read Le Dormeur du val. That poem has stuck with me even though I took that class over 5 years ago.
